Contest EXTENSION!

I’m getting flooded with tons and tons of lovely pictures of selkies in the wild! A lot of people are also informing me that, while they ordered their selkies to appear weeks ago, selkies take a while to arrive. I think it’s the not always having feet nature of the selkie.

Because of the recalcitrant nature of some selkies, I’ve decided to extend the Selkie Hunt Contest for another two weeks, till November 22.

To be honest, it’s also me being selfish as I’m enjoying the selkie photos very much. :-) So keep ‘em coming!

Couldn’t Have Said it Better Myself…

See Jane Bask, Snuggle with Skeletons, and FLY!

Hello everybody! First off, here are some recent reviews and interviews, some of which have contests! Watch out for the contests!

Secondly, we have so many Selkies Spottings! The Hunt is still going strong! Alana Joli Abbot caught selkies all over the place. First she was caught in the  Yale bookstore in New Haven, Connecticut. Why didn’t they shelve with her with Derrida?

This next photo, however, is of a selkie doing what selkies do best: a little basking. Alana says this selkie is basking on the rocks at Branford Point.

Finally, we have flying selkies! Alana says these were caught somewhere between Detroit and Chicago. As I’m from outside of Chicago, and my third book has a lot of action set in and around the suburbs of Chicago, I think this was a particularly fortuitous sighting.

Another reader, the ever lovely and supportive Qwill, caught Jane canoodling with YET ANOTHER skeleton, Dead Fred. What is up with Jane and her penchant for the very, very dead?

Finally, Jamie Skofstad sent me a picture of a selkie in Fort Meyer, Florida, and another sighting of a selkie in, of all places, an iPHONE. I thought that was particularly exciting . . . Jane Meets Techology!

Thanks for all the reports of sightings, my dears, and your names have gone into the Contest Can to win that 25$ gift certificate!

Finally, don’t forget that this weekend finds Jaye Wells and me taking part in the much publicized SHREVEPORT SMACKDOWN!

We’ll be doing a reading, Q&A, and signing books here at the Shreveport Barnes & Noble! Come see us . . . we serve our cookies with snark!

Interviews, Reviews, and MORE PETS!

Hello everybody!

Today brings even more . . . ME! Everyone’s being so great about interviewing me and reviewing the book, and here are two of my favorite interviews so far.

The first is from the lovely Jackie Kessler, fellow author and member of the League of Reluctant Adults. Her wonderfully sassy character, Jezebel, interviewed my Jane and the results are spectacular. Great stuff!

This is also an exciting day for Jackie as it’s the official launch date for the mass-market reissue of THE ROAD TO HELL, book 2 in her HELL ON EARTH series (Here’s the link to the first in that series, HELL’S BELLES, released September in mass market).

Why should you buy The Road to Hell? Well, first of all it’s awesome. Second of all, it’s PURPLE:

So it’ll look great next to Tempest Rising on the shelf! ;-)

The second interview is by Wicked Little Pixie, who asked some great questions. And got some great answers in return. I had a lot of fun doing this interview and it shows.

In other news, we have another SELKIE SIGHTING! This one from the wild yonders of Indiana! Heather Creely decided to challenge the popular notion that only cats enjoy my novel by showing that Jane True is, at heart, a dog person. *snicker* Get it? Dog person? If you’ve read the book you’ll get it. . . if you haven’t? Too bad, so sad. From here on in there will only be Tempest Rising related humor allowed on this site. Just kidding!

Or am I?

Anyway, here’s the adorable picture:

Awwwww . . . . Doggies!

As for reviews, there are some great ones up on Amazon.com and on Goodreads! People seem to be enjoying the book . . . yay!

My final bit of exciting news is that I’m not getting my ass walloped in Bitten By Books’ poll for “What are you Waiting for in November?” Don’t get me wrong, there is a hand-shaped print on my buttockulous that looks distinctly like Sherrilyn Kenyon’s, but considering there are actually people WHO NAME THEIR BABIES AFTER HER CHARACTERS, whilst I am but a lowly debut author, I couldn’t be happier. Just to be in the running for a poll like this is SO exciting, and to be holding my own is awesome.

That said, if you haven’t voted please do. Then vote again from your phone. And your secondary PC. Then go into work and vote there.

Not that I’m competitive, or anything. *foams at the mouth*

Okay, I gotta get to work (day job is calling), but thanks for all the support and I hope you enjoy the interviews! And go read Jackie’s series! IT’S PURPLE!

“Official” Sound Track!

I’ve posted my version of Tempest Rising’s Soundtrack on the TR page! What do you think?

What might you have added?

Nicole Peeler Needs You . . . AGAIN!

Two very fun things! First of all, you can check out an interview I did with Ellz Readz, and enter her contest to win a copy of Tempest Rising!

And I ALSO need ya’ll to BRING IT TO THE MAT FOR ME, here at Bitten By Books . . . They’re doing their November poll on what new releases people are waiting for, and TR is one of the choices!

Realistically, I will get stomped by Kenyon and MacAlister, not least because, if I’m perfectly honest, I voted for MacAlister as well. BUT WHATEVER. Vote for me! And also my league colleague Kelly Meding, whose book I’m about half way through with . . . and it ROCKS so far.

It’s Official! Jane’s Been Released!

Today is the official launch of Tempest Rising! To celebrate, I’m going to write a chapter of book 3.

I’d like to thank all of you who have sent me feedback on the novel, or written a review, or tweeted me to tell me you’ve enjoyed it. It’s a strange thing knowing it’s out there for everyone to read, and your words of encouragement have been both heartwarming and, to be honest, quite necessary for my occasionally fragile ego. ;-)

So thanks to everyone who’s read the book. I think book two is even better (I’m finally getting the hang of this fiction thing), and I’m really psyched about book 3.

Thanks again and I hope you enjoy Jane & Co.! I’ve posted some more reviews up on the main Tempest Rising page.
